I am to request you to inform the Local Commissioners of the Chamberlain that Mr ... understands that when the Acting Colonial Treasurer stated that shipments could be stopped at any time, he implied that on the Colonial Government sending a telegram to that effect the Crown Agents for the Colonies would cease sending silver to the Colony, but that the Mint would not if supplied abundantly to them.
I am to add that since the date of your letter under acknowledgement a telegram to the above effect has been received from the Colony, and that the Crown Agents have taken steps accordingly.
A copy of this correspondence will be forwarded to the Governor for his information.
